Nottingham Building Society ‘Wild Warrior’ duo, charity race…

By Jason Benskin.

Adam Nanda and Reece Davies from the Beeston branch of The Nottingham Building Society are in the final stages of preparation for a gruelling 10K obstacle race, to be held in the wilds of Derbyshire, at the beginning of October.

As part of the building society’s annual awareness programme, the boys decided to enter the event to help raise money for the local charity Framework, who aim to tackle the causes and consequences of homelessness, and SportsAid.

Adam told the local news: “We’re aiming to raise £2000 for our chosen charities, and are currently well on target to achieve that. The generosity from the public and our customers has been overwhelming”.

The X Runner ‘Wild Warriors’ event describes itself as ‘the ultimate obstacle race’ and incorporates 70 obstacles, including: Free Fall, Walk The Plank, Fire, Tightropes, Mud & Water. Reece commented: “As the event draws ever nearer, it has become quite daunting, but I’m sure Adam and myself will get through it”.

In addition to the race, the building society is hosting a charity dinner at Haveli Restaurant on Attenborough Lane, along with a raffle and entertainment.
